Unified Messaging
Unified messaging is the integration of different ?streams of messages (email, FAX, voice, video etc.) into a single inbox.
You can access your inbox through a PC and read through emails, voicemails and faxes and organise messages into specific folders as well as delete, respond to and forward them.
Or use a phone to listen to voice mails, faxes and emails using text-to-speech technology. Calyx unified messaging solutions allow you to either navigate via the keypad on the phone, or if voice recognition software is incorporated, use voice commands. You can choose to delete, respond to or forward messages or re-direct faxes to a local fax machine (e.g. hotel).
You can also prioritise messages, regardless of the form that it came in, and therefore listen to messages only from specific originators or in a specific order. Check your online diary and the scheduling of meetings through the phone keypad or via voice commands.
Unified messaging is particularly useful to mobile staff who are often away from the office because they can recover and act upon emails, voice mails, etc while travelling.
